Music

This song is my latest transcribing attempt. As with all the others, actual transcription took place in lilypond, a free music notation program.

The method used on this song differs from all the others I've done in the past. In regard to the others, I would listen to the host song and write down notes and chords as I plunked them out, taking no time to learn any of it. Then, when finished, I would go back and learn the song as I would any other. On "First Run," however, I learned and memorized the whole song by ear before I wrote down a single note. Using this process, I can learn the song much more quickly. Though with it all comitted to memory, motivation for notating drops by a notable degree. It is thus very difficult to share my music with anyone who might be interested without first expending the considerable amount of time and effort required for notating a song.

I have, as you can see, started the notation process. I have not as yet finished, but you are free to download the .pdf file and look at what is there. More will be coming shortly.

You are also free to take a look at the .ly (lilypond) file, though to those of you who are not familiar with lilypond, it will be as jibberish to you. But if, perhaps, you want to learn lilypond, this is a considerably good format to follow (if I do say so myself). All you need is a word-processor/text-editor to read (and write) a .ly file.
